TWENTY FIVE years ago Coatbridge joinery and building firm RA Sneddon was a oneman operation working from home.
Now the company boasts 19 employees and a purpose-built office and factory unit, and is looking forward to a bright future.
Managing director Robert Sneddon and company secretary Rosemary Sneddon believe the success the firm has achieved is largely down
to a dedicated workforce.
Robert said: "I would like to thank the employees for their loyalty, expertise, commitment and enthusiasm over the last 25 years.
"We wouldn't be where we are now without their efforts. The company wouldn't have the standing it has in the community and in our industry without them.
"Both myself and Rosemary would like to extend our appreciation to the workforce for all they have done."
RA Sneddon is a well-respected name within the UK food, retail, dairy and pharmaceutical industries. Along with their Coatbridge Coldstore Construction division, the company has a reputation for high quality work that can take their staff the length and breadth of the country, often at very short notice.
It was with that in mind that Robert and Rosemary laid on a fun day at Hamilton Racecourse to say thank you to not only their dedicated staff, but their understanding families.
Robert said: "The nature of our business is that we work all over the UK and sometimes we have to go away at short notice.
"Lizann Tinney, our sales and marketing office manager, organised this event and made it a successful day.
"This was our way of saying thank you to the families for putting up with the disruption and being so flexible."
Reflecting on the humble origins of the firm he started back in 1984, Robert added: "We have come a long way since then and now we are looking forward to the next 25 years."
